Dependence of Warm Season Cloud-to-Ground Lightning Polarity on Environmental Conditions over Sichuan, Southwest China

The effects of thermodynamic and moisture factors on cloud-to-ground (CG) lightning polarity in the warm season were discussed. Small convective available potential energy (CAPE) represents relatively shallow convection, which is beneficial to generation positive lightning. Large vertical wind shear results displacement upper-level ice crystals promotes initiation +CG from crystals. dry low- midlevel troposphere high cloud base plateau region favor lightning, while strong conditions basin offset influence these factors. In region, due limited thickness, total column liquid water may mean content rather than mixed-phase unfavorable for middle-level graupel thus thickness thicker, means that both high, conducive
